TOP Conference 2025 took place at The Kia Oval in London on 25 and 26 February.
Now in it’s fourth year, TOP Conference welcomed delegates, speakers and exhibitors to the conference for two days of talks and networking. Attendees came mainly from the UK (72% – down from 76% in 2024) but the conference also attracted those from Europe (22% – up from 12% in 2024) including Germany, France, Belgium and The Netherlands, as well as delegates from North America, India, and Japan.
The conference featured an exhibition area with 16 comanies exhibiting, up from 14 in 2024 and 5 in 2023. Students were invited to showcase their research through a poster presentation, in 2025, 17 posters were presented (18 in 2024 and 17 in 2023).
Excellent. I was particularly impressed with the organisers and how well and smoothly it all ran. I was also pleased to see that many of the speakers and attendees were decision makers in their teams. Perhaps highlighting the poster session would help direct people to go there. Overall, I was personally very impressed!

Seeing as there is limited mass-scale telcomms / optical comms manufacturing in the UK, shows like TOP conference enable us to establish ourselves in this market during the early research or development phases. The attendees were largely the exact same over the two days, so getting leads on the second day was more difficult. The location was excellent and was great for us to establish a presence within this industry.
